Before You Begin
Things to Know Before You Start
To use Numbers efficiently, it helps to understand what brands and campaigns are, and how they relate to 10DLC. If you're already familiar with these concepts, you can skip this topic and go straight to the instructions on how to Register Your Brand and Submit & Manage Campaigns.
About brand registration
The term, brand, refers to a company's business and legal information. Brand registration involves providing this information to The Campaign Registry (TCR), which works on behalf of certain mobile network operators to verify your company. For example, in the US, both T-Mobile and AT&T utilize TCR's verification process, which means that until TCR verifies your brand, you can't send messages from a 10DLC number to those operators.
You need to register a brand only once per company.
You'll use the Brands feature in Numbers to register your brand. This feature lets you enter the required information and submit it to TCR. The Brands feature lets you see the status of your brand. Once you submit your brand registration, TCR will verify if all the information checks out. If not, the status will show as Unverified and you'll see "Action Required" for the brand. Then you'll need to open the brand and see what needs to be corrected. If you don't understand what needs to be corrected then contact your OpenMarket account manager for help.
For a list of the specific information that's required, see the Checklist.
About campaigns
To send messages in the US, certain mobile network operators require that you submit a campaign. A campaign contains information about the messages you intend to send. You'll use the Campaigns feature in Numbers to create and submit campaigns.
When you select Campaigns from the Numbers menu, you'll see a page listing all of the campaigns associated with your brand.
The Submit New Campaign button lets you create a new campaign, while the View button lets you access details about an existing campaign. For each campaign you need to provide:
- Basic information about your campaign
- The source number (originator) you will use to send the messages
- Information about how end users will opt in
- Information about how end users can opt out
For a list of the specific information that's required, see the Checklist.
How your brand and campaigns work together
Every campaign must be associated with a brand. So when you create a campaign, the first piece of information you'll enter is the brand. If you haven't already registered your brand, you'll need to do that before you can activate a campaign and send messages.
Campaign status
On the main Campaigns page, each campaign displays in its own panel. The status of a campaign shows on the right side along with the brand that's associated with the campaign. A campaign can be in one of these states:
- Draft — The campaign is being set up but hasn't yet been submitted.
- Processing — The campaign has been submitted and we are awaiting approval by the mobile operators.
- Registered — The campaign has been submitted and approved, and you can now send messages to all mobile operators.
- Deprecated — The campaign has been deprecated. No messages can be sent for this campaign. You cannot reactivate a deprecated campaign. You'll need to submit a new one.
